Our Story

about us

I’m Ben, in 2018, having left my job in London to return to the countryside to try something completely new, I started designing and building the shepherd’s huts on Martingrange Farm.

Helen & Tony have farmed on Martingrange for over 20 years, they have South Devon cows, Blue Faced Leicester sheep and they have recently added three pygmy goats and two rheas to their farming family. Looking at diversifying their smallholding, we decided we could work together to create the perfect place for couples, families and friends to spend time in the countryside.

Despite the bumpy journey over the last 2 and a bit years, with this project turning out to be a lot more work than we imagined, we finally have something that we are really proud of and we hope it will be a place for people to enjoy for many years to come.
