We are a stone’s throw from the wild beauty of Dartmoor National Park and a short drive from the stunning South Devon Coast and its charming towns and villages.

Thought to be one of Britain’s oldest inns, this charming pub serves a range of local beers, gins and superb meals, just a 5 minute walk from the huts.

Ashton (5-10 minute Drive)
The Manor Inn in a neighbouring village is a family owned pub known for its sunny beer garden and high quality food.

The Nobody Inn
Doddiscombsleigh (10 minute Drive)
17th Century traditional pub with beer garden situated in the picturesque village of Doddiscombsleigh – serves a huge selection of wines and whisky and is known for its good food.

Dartmoor National Park
A vast area of moorland, great for walking, picnicking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, horse riding.
Dartmoor is known for its Tors, these are granite outcrops that can be 1500ft high. Haytor is probably the most famous tor on Dartmoor, lesser known Hound Tor is a short drive further and can often be quieter.
There are loads of lovely places to visit within Dartmoor, for a perfect picnic spot on the edge of a river, we recommend visiting Bellever (45 min drive)

Cities
The ancient City of Exeter is a 25 minute drive away. Visit the Cathedral, the Roman City Walls or the 14th Century underground tunnels. There is also Exeter Quay, The Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, lots of shops, bars & restaurants.
Plymouth, 40 minutes away, is a vibrant waterfront city known for its maritime heritage. Wander along the Barbicans quaint cobbled quayside or relax in one of the many independent bars and restaurants or simply hit the shops!
If you have a bit more time its worth getting the Cremyll Ferry over to Mount Edgcumbe, a house and country park across the Cornish border with lovely views of the coast
